VAVelocity turned five last year and it was time to pause and reflect on what a incredible journey it’s been. Like any business it’s had it’s highs and lows and every day certainly has been a school day.
I’ll write more about my five years in business in another blog but for now I’m pausing for a moment to reflect on 2017. 2017 for VAVelocity as a business was one of the most challenging yet when ill heath struck me at the start of the year (emergency plans are your saving grace. they were mine) but having come out the other side I can safely say I’ve learnt a lot and it’s made me focus on my values and vision with renewed clarity. VAVelocity turned 5 in 2017, a milestone I’m extremely proud of as a business owner to have achieved as many businesses don’t make it to the crucial 5 years. Going into its 6th year, 2018 is about self development, honing my skills as a business owner and giving the branding some tender loving care.
In terms of professional development, last month I was delighted to be awarded Scotland VA of the Year – runner up by Be My VA Considering the difficulties I experienced last year I was pretty chuffed to say the least.
So self development, I am off to the Office show in London next week for some seminars on topics such G Suite and Microsoft. I’m also looking forward to catching up with some colleagues. It’s a fantastic opportunity and I’m sure that as much hard work as it will be there’ll be a lot of fun as well.
As VAVelocity passed this milestone I feel it’s time to give it a shiny new coat, who doesn’t need a new coat after five years?! So expect some changes. I shall be taking the time to choose who shall oversee this transformation. I feel that as VAVelocity has grown up, the website needs to deliver more than it’s current one page offering.
Exciting times ahead!
